Welcome to PK. The first three days of school have been fantastic. The children have been getting to know each other through exploring the classroom, playing name games, and working together. They have all been discovering the fun of the different centers around the room. The class loved picking, eating and sharing beans and tomatoes from our PK garden. We also scooped, measured, and grated all the ingredients needed to bake zucchini bread from the huge zucchini we picked from the school garden. The class found the smell of the bread baking irresistible and could not wait to taste the warm bread.

Play dough
2 cups of flour
1 cup of salt
2 tablespoons cream of tartar
2 tablespoon of vegetable oil
2 cups of water
Zucchini Bread
3 eggs
1 cup oil
2 cups of sugar
2 tsp of Vanilla
2 cups grated zucchini ( 3 med. zucchinis)
3 cups of flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 cup walnuts
Mix eggs and oil until fluffy. Add sugar and vanilla (mix well). Add grated zucchini (mix well)
Mix dry ingredients together and slowly add to wet ingredients. Pour into two bread pans and bake at 350 for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean.
Reminders:
- Sign your child in/out everyday.
- Please remember the PK classroom is not open to students until 7:30am.
- Please provide a backpack for your child's blankets and stuffies.
- Please help your child become familiar with the morning routine, putting lunch boxes and water bottles in the appropriate containers, and back packs and jackets on hooks.
- We will be starting circle at 8:00am.
- Please wash bedding and water bottles every Friday.
- The green Stevenson bag is for extra clothes to be left at school.
- The weekly and daily lessons are posted on the board located by the door.
- When your child is having separation anxiety, it is best to have a quick goodbye to help them transition into school.
